The solution for multi-renewable heating systems, our twin coil heat pump range provide all the staples of our standard indirect heat pumps, but with the added benefit of a solar-input heating coil, to ensure your hot water systems are heated optimally, combining cost saving for the end user with year-round performance. These cylinders are available in 170-300L capacities.
Our twin coil heat pumps come provided as standard with a 25-year cylinder warranty from the manufacturer. The are manufactured with duplex stainless steel and come equipped with a 2m2 or 3m2 316L-grade heat pump heating coil, with 1” BSP connections, and a uniform-size solar coil with ¾” BSP connections, provided with nuts and olives. The heat pump coils are made from wide-diameter corrugated tubing to encourage turbulent flow in the heat exchange process for maximum performance, and quicker recovery times.
These cylinders are compatible with all air source and ground source heat pumps and are designed to work with either a traditional thermosiphon or pumped solar heating systems.
An immersion heater is placed beneath the heat pump coil and above the solar coil, approximately 30-40% up the cylinder. This can be connected to a solar PV diverter to power your cylinder entirely via renewable technologies but should primarily be used once per week for a 60-65°C pasteurisation cycle for at least 1 hour to avoid any risk of legionella bacteria growth.
These units come provided with a G3 unvented compliance kit (3 bar/6 bar inlet control set, 7 bar 90°C temperature and pressure relief valve and associated insulation cover, 15mm x 22mm tundish), a suitably sized expansion vessel, 28mm 2-port zone valve, and a high-lit cut-out thermostat.
All installations should be made in accordance with building regulations, as well as the terms detailed in our installation manual, and should be carried out by a qualified professional.
